Research Paper: In your final paper you will connect a dance style/form from before 1930 to a contemporary choreographer working today. In 6 pages (double spaced, 12pt font), using at least 3 scholarly sources, you will build a new historical bridge. This shouldn’t be something that is already written about, but rather something that you infer on your own from what you have learned this semester. How are the repercussions of the movement style/form you chose evident today? How is it re-imagined? The paper must include a Harvard-style bibliography with citations and references throughout the text. The grading is broken down to be: 3 points for bibliography + use of references throughout the text; 3 points for writing (well organized, clear, without spelling and grammatical errors), 4 points for your historical basis; 4 points for the creative bridge you are forming from past to present. (Your topics CANNOT be UArts faculty or the same as your profile topics.)
