Conventions Practice (Punctuation, Mechanics, Spelling)

Write a short paper (1page 250-300 words) on a controversial academic topic. The topic can be drawn from any discipline (e.g., international development, economics, politics etc…) and from a dimension of your choice (e.g., economically, socially, locally, institutionally etc…). Please express your position on this controversy by developing your argument with reasons for your point of view.

The assessment targets are to use correct conventions in English, including punctuation, mechanics and spelling. To achieve the target, you must 1) eliminate all incorrect uses of the above; 2) use the semicolon 3 times min., the colon 3 times min., the dash once, the parentheses once, and display different uses for the semicolon and colon; and 3) incorporate 2 relative clauses (who, which, when, where ) and consider their use carefully; Check the spelling with a tool of your choice and at least once with your own eyes :). Incorporate at least 3 types of mechanics (other than capitals).

Submit the paper to the GC by the deadline for my review in MS Word or Google Docs format.

Please ensure you have both uploaded and submitted it to the GC assignment.
