Core Values Paper

The assignment is to explain how my core values correlcate with the Air Force values.

The Air Force Core Values are, Service Before Self, Integrity First and Excellence In All We Do.

My values are Calmness, understanding, Self control, Diversity of Thought and Risk-taking

Here is what I have written so far.

Most companies and organizations have their own values but may not encourage team members to identify their own. My top five values are calmness, self-control, understanding, diversity of thought and risk-taking. Being aware of our own values can help initiate informed decisions in the workplace and even outside of the duty day. The core values have been with us in their form for several years, and roots in historical experience of the Air Force and the American military.
Our collection of experiences, the people with whom we spend time, and how we present ourselves to the world boils down to values.
With my values, each characteristic of the profession may require all of these values and I will pick up on this line of thought shortly. First, I will argue that each characteristics of professionalism calls for one of the Air Force’s core values in a certain way. Honoring our values leading us to live more fulfilling lives when dealing with people a variety of circumstances.
The Air Force core values consist of “integrity first,” “service before self”, and “excellence in all we do”. In correlation to my own values system, “integrity first” deals largely with character. That value ties in nicely with calmness and self-control. When dealing with people and us there a certain level of patience required to handle situations with the care it deserves.
