Assignment Instructions:
1. Explore the Making Connections lists below and select something that interests you.
Claim your topic as soon as you’ve decided on it by posting a new thread with the topic
name in the Making Connections discussion board. If you see your topic you want
already up in the slide show, you are too late. It has been claimed by another.
2. Research your selection, beginning with the textbook.
3. Prepare a 5-6 minute presentation on this selection, which addresses the following
questions:
a. What is your selection and why was it important for the development of US
Democracy?
b. What is the historical context of this? What relevant things were happening in the
US during this time?
c. How might the US be a different place today had this not taken place/existed? In
what ways would we be better or worse off?
4. Create a simple slide with no more than 50 words (needs to fit in the box in 18pt. font).
Include a video(2min. max) or image to support your presentation. (see example slide)
5. List all sources at the bottom of your slide
Your presentation could be an audio recording or a youtube video you made. Just make sure to
provide a link to it on your slide that the whole class can access. If you are having difficulty
making a recording, uploading media or just don’t want to mess too much with technology, no
problem! Just type your presentation text in the notes section of the slide you made.
