Critically compare the theoretical frameworks that have been used as a lens to provide insight into corporate governance. In your response you may refer to notable corporate failures, such as that of Enron (see attached feedback).

Referring to relevant theoretical frameworks, and drawing upon empirical evidence, critically discuss whether corporate governance regulation has been effective in achieving these aims (see attached feedback).

It has been argued that if corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting is legislated, it will lead to improvements in both reporting quantity and quality and will make organisations more accountable. However, studies on the impact of regulations on CSR reporting practice have looked at a variety of recent regulatory initiatives that have clearly had varying degrees of success.
Critically discuss whether legislating CSR reporting can ultimately make organisations more accountable. In your response consider the wider debate around corporate social responsibility and draw upon relevant theoretical models and empirical results.
