This individual research assignment consists of the following three components:
Research: Spend some time researching your topic and local organization. Make connections to course readings AND bring in additional outside materials from popular culture, social media, and the library. Remember to also reference the research you conducted on the organizational highlight.
Creative Component: Create a visual representation that captures your findings and conveys your ideas. Connect your ideas to your theory of change. Ideas for creative representations of your slides/videos include comic strip style sketches, online magazine, slideshows, poster campaigns, collages, a curated box, an electronic gallery of a curated exhibit that highlights themes in your research, a podcast segment created by you, a video interview, etc. Be creative! You are not limited to the ideas mentioned here.
Individual Paper: Each individually written paper will be 4 pages in length, typed, and shall be submitted online on the date indicated in the Course Schedule. The paper should be analytical and focused on your topic . In the past, some students have chosen to integrate their paper within the creative visual project itself that is completely acceptable. If you are unclear, reach out in advance! (If your visual was text heavy – for instance a website or powerpoint with lots of info and captions, you may modify to 2 pages in length for this piece)
