Create an 8.5×11 in. Illustrator document

2. Create an 8.5×11 in. Illustrator document

3. Import a photo of yourself and create an Illustrator self portrait drawing. Reminder: Illustrator is often used by creating shapes and closed paths which you can fill with a color or gradient. Instead of filling a large area by “painting” with a brush which you may be used to doing with traditional media such, it is better to fill it with a color by selecting a shape and using the color or gradient options.

4. Create a logo with your first and last name above or below your portrait. Choose a font, then choose Type > Create Outlines to outline the text and manipulate it to create dynamic logo.

6. Reminder: you can group objects to help you move them. Select multiple paths then Object > Group

7. You can use multiple layers if it helps to create the image and/or Object > Arrange > Bring to Front or Send to Back.

8. Save file as an Adobe Illustrator .ai file, not jpeg or PNG
