This assignment requires you to select a criminal justice topic and provide an overview of the issue and some relevant research concerning the topic. This module is concerned with the ways in which we formally attempt to address crime in society–that is to say, official, state-sanctioned efforts.
You should write a 3-page (double-spaced excluding required references and optional cover page) paper on a topic of your choice in APA format. You should use a minimum of 3 academic sources (1 may be the course textbook).
This paper will be a review of the scientific literature on your selected topic. The following items should be present in the paper: a clear statement of the issue, a review of the available literature, conclusions about what is known from the findings (and possibly what is still not conclusively known); and, recommendations for future research (what is not known or should be considered by researchers).
The paper should have the following basic structure:
