Layers of Significance to be Used:
1. The object’s history (when it was first created, where it is manufactured now)
2. the object’s cultural significance (who uses it, how is it used, what rituals does it contribute to)
3. the object’s social significance (does it confer status, to whom and how?)
4. the object’s political significance (what conflicts, if any exist regarding the creation of the object; does the object convey a political viewpoint or connect to one?)
5. the object’s economic significance (is this object part of an industry? Does it create wealth? How does it relate to the work done by people?)
6. personal (how did this object enter your life? Is it a family heirloom? Is it a practical item? Did you purchase it or was it a gift? What is its value to you?)
