Select four of the vignettes and related anecdotes in the novella …And the Earth Did Not Devour Him for your paper. Review the lecture for Week 10 to ensure you understand some of the ways the anecdotes and vignettes might be related.
Do not select the opening or closing vignettes, and do not select the two I discuss in the lecture.
Once you have reviewed the reading, discuss what themes or motifs seem to connect the anecdote to the vignette. Explore (and show with supporting information from the text) a major theme related to values, social issues, or collective identity that seems to be present in your selected portion. Cite all details.
Your goal should be to identify four vignettes that have related themes.
You may use the essay by Moraelez (week 8) to help you establish themes, provide supporting information or ideas, or develop your main argument.
You may make comparisons to No-No Boy, but the bulk of the writing for this paper should be about …And the Earth Did Not Devour Him.
This paper should be 1000 words minimum. All supporting details should be accurately and properly cited using a normal academic style. It should include a work cited page or bibliography, depending on the style of citation you select.
