CRITICAL REFLECTION ON TWO OF THE FIVE FACES OF OPPRESSION

ASSIGNMENT 1: CRITICAL REFLECTION ON TWO OF THE FIVE FACES OF OPPRESSION (20%) Due: 28 September by 11.59pm
You will write a Critical Reflection paper that is 2-3 pages in length (double-spaced, 12 pt font, 1-inch [2.54cm] margins, with the bibliography page extra).
Details:
A Critical Reflection paper is a means to thoughtfully consider a specific topic. “Critical” in this sense means to engage thoughtfully, not simply repeat or describe what the articles or lectures say.
This Critical Reflection paper allows you to review what the course readings and lectures say about the five faces of oppression and to reflect on what they mean to you. For your paper, pick TWO of the five (ONLY TWO) and write a critical reflection on how they function in your own life. This does not mean you have to write about yourself. You could comment on observations you have made at work, at school, in social media accounts you follow or post to, etc.
Remember to DEFINE your terms IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Do not simply repeat Young’s (1990) definitions, and remember to consider the role of social groups and the complexity of privilege and oppression.
You are expected to demonstrate knowledge of course material (which you do by using it) and to present a claim (an argument or thesis) about the two faces of oppression that you have selected. You are also expected to provide evidence (from readings or your own real-life examples) to support any claims you make.
