So, what are they? This is for you to discover! You will be doing a formal research paper on this topic.
You will need to cover the following in your paper:
Explain what cryptocurrencies are
Discuss at least 2 of the different cryptocurrencies in use (Bitcoin is not the only one)
How does one obtain cryptocurrency (how would you get some of the two you picked in the bullet above)?
Illustrate a real-life use of cryptocurrency as a medium of exchange (not a theory or it could be, but where is it excepted)
Discuss the usefulness, limitations and dangers of cryptocurrencies
While I do not have a set number of pages for this topic, I can say that student who doing this assignment in under 5 paragraphs tend toward lower grades due to a lack of detail or missing one of the bullets in their paper.
Moreover, you will most likely need to have a few references since it is rare that a student is an expert on this subject, which means you are look up information. So have a reference page in APA and cite your sources in-text.
I have always found that Investopedia a great place to start when there is a financial asset that I need to learn more about. As such, you might want to start at https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/cryptocurrency.asp. However, this should NOT be your only source besides your textbook. This one I gave you, go find your own resources as well.
