5. The presentation must follow an outline. The outline must be typed, and a copy given to
the instructor and the other students.
6. Items to be covered in the outline and during the presentation:
a) General cultural health care beliefs (10 points)
b) Prevalent chronic illnesses of the ethnicity/cultural group (10 points)
c) Pregnancy and birth rites or rituals (20 points)
d) Infant feeding practices (10 points)
e) Death rites or rituals (10 points)
f) Eye contact practices (5 points)
g) Touch practices (5 points)
h) Food practices as related to health/illness and food intolerances (10 points)
7. Utilize at least 2 peer-reviewed nursing journal articles per person. Articles from
nursing journals must be no more than 5 years old. Submit copies of the articles to your
clinical instructor at the time of the presentation. (10 points/person)
8. Contact BCCC’s Library for assistance finding and obtaining the actual articles.
9. Include a separate page for references. The reference page format is to follow the American
Psychological Association (APA) format and must be submitted to your instructor at the
time of the presentation. Your textbook may be included as a reference. (10 points)
