(1) Address a specific topic of educational inequality that exists in US schools. For ideas refer to the textbook chapters, topics can include: class, ethnicity and/or race, and gender issues;

(2) Apply a sociological perspective, both a theory and terms used in the textbook and/or the additional readings, to analyze the form of inequality you’ve selected; when applying a theory discuss at least 3 key points about the theory to deepen your analysis. Incorporate ideas from the reading on “Multicultural Teacher Education: Research, Practice and Policy,” into your paper’s analysis;
(3) Discuss how the topic of inequality you selected could be addressed and improved through the use of multicultural educational practices.

A major goal in facilitating equality of educational opportunity for all students, involves transforming educational practices and policies to reflect the needs of an increasingly diverse student population. This means meeting the challenges of generating a more critical and inclusive pedagogy, in order to enrich learning environments for all students.
