In 3-5 pages, a minimum of 750 words, double-spaced, 12 pt font, written in your own words and in multiple paragraphs, using university-standard grammar and spelling, select a dance scene or dance video not covered in the course. Using the skills and vocabulary you have honed over the term, describe the movement, identify the implications for race, gender, class, sexuality and/or power, and discuss how the dancing functions in relation to these concepts applying the ideas explored in the Movement Description Forum (addressing the question “what is or what are the movements doing?”). To deepen your analysis, students may choose to integrate one or more relevant scholarly articles not covered in the course to help contextualize and extend their reading of the choreography.
