How AI Enables Enterprises to Get the Most Out of Their Data
There was a study done on artificial intelligence and its current uses. The article discusses items found in the study including trends and companies adopting AI even though they do not fully understand its use cases and its limitations. One of the limitations was the role data plays in AI. The problem is if the correct data is not provided and the correct amount it can lead to failure. (Roe)
The traditional enterprise storage environments do not make data easily accessible, and they do not provide a full scope of data that can be used to drive business. Most businesses rely upon standard infrastructure requiring intervention when the data comes in to monitor, manipulate and manage the bandwidth by utilizing Quality of Service technologies. While enterprise storage now has the capabilities to utilize commodity flash storage and virtualized workloads, many existing storage solutions cannot utilize these features resulting in higher costs and less accessible data. Companies that are not using AIOPS are preventing their own success. AIOps can make automatic recommendations to customers based on similar order history or the ability to analyze and process data for predictive maintenance. It will help make data more easily accessible and allow companies to get the most out of their data while adhering to best practices.
I think two of the main points in this article are the following. Utilizing AI companies can get better uses out of the money they are putting into their data repositories. AI technologies allow data to be fully used and to formulate recommendations based upon trends that can be found very quickly through ananlytics.
