Steps to Completing Task
Define the boundaries of the school community (presumably, immediate community as well as areas where students/families live).
Using publicly available map based databases and relevant filters, create screenshots of a minimum of 10 distinct types of data from the public sites. LINKS Provided in the attachments
Create a Google Slide Presentation to present the results of spatial analysis investigation following the following guidelines:
Formatting your Slide Show:
Slides 1 – 3

The first 1-3 slides should provide the viewer a profile of your school including:
School name, and general information (elementary, secondary, grade levels served?
Information about programmatic and curricular offerings (is this a charter, public, private, independent school? Doe sit have a specific focus (i.e. performing arts, STEM, dual language, etc)
Demographics (race, ethnicity, SES, SpEd, ENL, etc), learning outcomes, grade levels served, teacher experience, etc..) (THIS IS NOT YOUR SPATIAL ANALYSIS DATA – THIS JUST GIVES THE VIEWER INFORMATION ABOUT THE SCHOOL CONTEXT)
The Next Ten (10) Slides:
The following 10 slides (minimum) will each include one screenshot of unique spatial data visualization per slide with room to include a text box for text on the side. In the text box, include 2 pieces of information:
A description of what the visualization shows (e.g. “This slide shows that there is only one public library in the school’s attendance area)
An interpretation of the implications the data may suggest for the leaders/members of the school community. (e.g. Limited access to public library may limit families access to reading resources and computer resources; Leaders may use this information to seek grant funds to embellish these types of resources in the school and/or community spaces.”
Conclusion Slides
Conclude with 1-3 slides listing your assessment of the top three pressing and spatially related Leadership Questions or Implications that the spatial analysis produces for a school-level leader. (e.g. 1 question/Implication could be: How might leaders partner with other businesses to ensure all families have access to technology/wifi and free reading/media resources). (You may include the questions/implications on one slide or portray them on their own slides, totaling no more than 3 conclusion slides).
