Describe a clinical situation where you were concerned (e.g., a higher incidence of falls, infections, errors, etc.) and where decisions were made to improve the situation. What sources of evidence were utilized to make the decision (e.g., personal experience, expert advice, etc.)?
Many things began with Florence Nightingale including research into impact of interventions on outcomes. Many of you may have already identified that hand-washing and a clean environment in the healthcare setting were from Nightingale workcollecting data which impacted the soldiers health during the Crimean War, Houser (2018).
Class if you have been in the health care setting whether it is with visiting or working, have you observed a practice which you think could be completed in a more efficient way? Did you see a practice which was not followed per guidelines? What was your impression?
