Self-disclosure assignment
Describe a relationship (romantic, family, friends, co-workers, neighbors) in which self-disclosure was damaging to the dyad (the two people involved). For example, this may have been a lack of sufficient self-disclosure between a couple in a relationship (“I couldn’t figure him out–he never shared his thoughts or what he was feeling”), or it may have been too much self-disclosure, such as on a first date, where the other person, in an effort to be conversational and relatable, reveals things of too personal a nature for a first date experience, leaving you thinking “Why did they tell me that?! I did NOT need to know that—and definitely not now—on a first date. Too soon!” Use at least two examples of Disclosure Guidelines from the textbook and connect them to your examples to support your response.
Your response should be 1-2 pages, single-spaced, 12-point font, Times New Roman. Examples and properly cited references (APA or MLA) from the textbook are required.
