Applying Theory to Practice
In human services practice, we often have theories that guide us in making decisions, choosing interventions, and implementing strategies. Which of the theories in our readings seem to fit most with the way you approach providing human services?

This week, share your thoughts about theories in human services. Here are some ideas you might include:

Would you describe your theoretical views as behavioral? Developmental? Systems-oriented? Describe an instance when you applied a specific theoretical view and why you think that example represents the view.
Where do you think you developed your theoretical views? How did you come to have those viewpoints? Describe how experiences, training, mentorships, et cetera, influenced you in this respect.
Is there a creative way you could represent your theoretical beliefs? Try a flow chart or a word cloud or some other visual way of representing your ideas!
