Describe an object that is
important to you and trace its history. Some ideas include: a memory box,
a piece of jewelry, a trophy, an heirloom, a piece of furniture…the
details you select should help to explain why the object is important to
you. Your audience is anyone you would wish to share this story with. Your
purpose is to give your audience a clear picture of the importance of the
object. You will need to describe feelings and events; there is an element
of narration to this topic. The physical description of the object should
go in the introduction or in one section – it should not be the focus of
the essay. You cannot use YOU in this one, either.
