Describe and explain the role of alcohol and illicit drug in crime and violence.

The objective of the midterm exam is to evaluate the understanding of
important course concepts from our course in Crime and Violence in
America. Please answer ALL questions as fully and directly as possible. Make sure to include very specific and detailed answers
to the questions below and minimize extraneous information. Include
examples where appropriate. In terms of minimum requirements, the total
exam (i.e all three questions) is 600 words in length. Again, this is
for the total exam, NOT 600 words per question. Just making sure for
you.

Note: Papers that do not meet the minimum length requirement will not score a passing grade on the exam. (The Midterm is worth 50 points.)

Midterm Exam Prompts:
Identify ethological, biological, and sociological explanations of
violence (chapter 2). Discuss and provide examples of each. Which
explanation of violence is most compelling to you? Why?

Describe and explain the role of alcohol and illicit drug in crime
and violence (chapter 3). What kind of legislation has been utilized to
reduce the impact of alcohol and drug addiction?

The textbook discusses a variety of correlates between guns/firearms
and crime/violence. What is the relationship between guns/firearms and
crime/violence in the U.S.? What kind of legislation has been utilized
to reduce the impact of guns and firearms?

effect grades.
The omission of any part of this assignment will reduce your score by one letter grade.
In grading papers, I look for writing problems like spelling errors,
typos, and grammar. You should too. Composition counts for 40% of your
paper grade. With word processors, “spell check,” and “grammar check” –
there is no reason for spelling and grammar errors.
