Topic: A Debate on Intellectual Challenges
Psychologists across disciplines use intelligence tests to make important decisions about clients, students, employees, and other stakeholders. For example, clinical psychologists use intelligence tests to identify a client’s strengths and needs when conducting psychological assessments. I-O psychologists use intelligence testing as part of an employee selection system. Forensic psychologists use intelligence testing to determine a defendants’ competency levels. Despite the widespread use of intelligence testing, psychologists have identified many issues with intelligence tests. For this discussion, we will focus on the role that culture plays in measuring intelligence. After reviewing the unit readings, address the following in your discussion board post:
Describe culture-loading and how it relates to intelligence testing.
Present three examples of ways that test developers could reduce the cultural loading of a test.
Develop an example of a culture-loaded item that could appear on an intelligence measure.
Compare culture-free and culture-specific intelligence tests. Which do you think is likely to produce more valid results, and why?

Write a 6-page paper on the following:
Identify (2) peer-reviewed articles that discuss a tool that assesses and measures a psychological disorder or classification.
Provide a synopsis of each article and discuss the merits as well as flaws of each tool being supportive for the diagnosis of psychopathology.
