Concerning uses of data for prediction as described in the book, Write a 3-4
page, single-spaced paper briefly summarizing the following: Describe, in your
own clear terms, the five key effects of prediction as described in the book
and summarized in Appendix A. From Chapter 3 The Data Effect, describe how data
can mislead you and how you can avoid wrong conclusions. From Chapter 4 The
Machine That Learns, the author tries to demystify the concept of machine
learning and describes one technique, decision trees, in some detail. Describe
in your own terms how decision trees work and their pros and cons. From both
