Describe how urbanization and the population growth rate are going to cause problems in the coming years.

1- What do you think Smart Cities will be like? What kind of newer social problems might they bring with them and why?
2- Fertility, mortality, and immigration are three main factors demographers use to determine population growth. What are the political implications of population growth through immigration in the United States especially with the projection of Hispanics becoming the dominant group in the next 30-50 years?

Now that our 6 weeks are up (!), which concept did you learn in this course that you think is the most valuable for your career? Why?

1-We deal with variables everyday without even thinking about it.

Examples:

If I have $20.00 and I need to use $10.00 for gas, how much will I have left for lunch?

I have to take a math quiz, how much time do I need and when will I schedule it?

We work with these variables daily without even thinking about them.

2- When you have a decision to make about something, you look at your options and determine the best course of action. These options are like variables and the value or priorities that you place on the options help you make your decision. It is the results of this process that gives you the answer you need. Different people will make different choices, depending on their situation and the value they use for the variables. These all can be expressed in algebraic expressions. Does this make sense to you?
