A Final Movie Analysis
For this final assignment, your goal is to practice the sociological imagination in considering the significance of “family life” (as an agent of socialization) in shaping our attitudes and values; ideas of what is “natural” and “normal” behavior, etc.

A brief synopsis of how “family” is depicted in this movie (or show), through the lens/perspective of a central character.
A scene from the movie that “spoke to you” on some level, and that supports your observation of the sociological imagination in understanding this family (cite chapter and section). Hint: think race/ethnicity, culture, social class, gender, religion, occupation, etc.
When you apply the “sociological imagination” (putting yourself in another’s shoes), do you have greater compassion for the main character, even though you may not agree with his/her actions? Please elaborate in your response (and if you watched this movie or series with family or friends, don’t hesitate to add their comments as well).
