Outline of a 10 to 15 Page-Research
Paper for ORL525

The paper is to have 10 to 15 pages of research plus the Bibliography and
plus the Abstract. That is 10 to 15 pages of research data.
The Introduction contains the name of the country you will research and the
particular leadership interest on which you will focus. Your focus can be
on examples of leadership in companies, leadership in social organizations,
leadership in community service.
Information like corruption, the types of industry, and natural resources
are commonly known. You are going to dig into a leadership topic or issue
that is only known to people in that country. Such information will be in
local newspapers and you have access to newspapers in that country.
You will find lots of stories in newspapers and some of the stories you may
be able to corroborate from ezines or reputable blogs. However, since you are
focused on examples of leadership leave the True Confessions stories for
someone else.
Newspaper stories that examine leadership will be rare. Therefore it is up
to you to infer the leadership qualities or style or lack thereof.
You may find multiple examples of leadership. It is O.K. to use
multiple examples BUT, you should contrast them. Show how the leaders
were alike or different.
A good research paper includes the
following

1. Title page
2. Running head
3. Abstract (different than the introduction)
….no more than 200 words.
4. Introduction (outlining the paper). The
introduction is a map that tells me where you are going with the paper. Take
this advice seriously.
5. The body
a. Describe the geography of your chosen
country in half a page
b. The economy of the country
c. The religion of the country
d. The politics of the country
e. The worldview of the country… (that
concludes the first part of your paper)
f. Describe the business you are
going to expand in this country… (I expect this second part to start beginning
page 5 or 6. That will give you enough pages to describe thoroughly the
business.

v. Timeframe

vi. Explain how your company will benefit from
the expansion of the business

vii. Explain how the community or the country
will benefit from the expansion of the organization there

it

ix. Explain how you as an expatriate will benefit
from it

x. Make sure no details are left behind as it pertains
to the description and the nature of the business
6. Conclusion (Remember the linear active
rule: tell me what you are going to tell me (introduction). Tell me (the body).
Remind me of what you just told me (conclusion).
7. References (at least 10) for such a lengthy
paper.
8. Any missing point(s) in this outline will
result in a reduction of your grade. There will be no consideration.
