Essay 1: Your Journey So Far
Assignment: This is a personal, descriptive essay about your journey in life so far, your educational path, and how you balance it all out with your other obligations and interests outside of school.
Requirements: 3-4 pages using MLA formatting. This is an Academic essay and must include all parts including an Introduction and Thesis, Body paragraphs, and Conclusion. You must illustrate your points with concrete examples from your own experiences. Your essay will be scored on the inclusion of all parts, as well as on sentence level grammar, and paragraph structure, as well as correct formatting. Please address the following prompts and give examples from your own life to illustrate each:

You will need to brainstorm for MULTIPLE paragraphs for EACH of these prompts to complete the page length requirements of this essay. You may also come up with additional topics after first answering these. You will have more to say for some than others, depending on your own experiences.
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced.
Think about an academic subject that inspires you. Describe how you have furthered this interest inside and/or outside of the classroom.
Every person has a creative side, and it can be expressed in many ways: problem solving, original and innovative thinking, and artistically, to name a few. Describe how you express your creative side. How does this creative side help you deal with balancing out your responsibilities of school, family, work, and other areas of your life?
You may submit your Brainstorm and Outline in one word doc or pdf, or as two separate ones. I have no preference except I do NOT accept links to google docs.
