For Camp Counselor, I will be collaborating with Vanessa Arp.

2. Learning Goals: What knowledge, skills, and experiences do you want to gain
from this experience? Remember, one of your learning goals is to experience
face-to-face opportunities leading PER-related activities/programs. List at least
three learning goals.

To protect the safety of the participants, get more confidence in belaying alongside them.

More knowledge and abilities in leading / teaching activities that include team building, such as problem-solving, and the ability to meet the needs of individuals by providing positive feedback and using effective facilitation techniques.

Learn more about the different Personal Discovery Program activities that can be led in a gym or on a ropes course (low/high events). In addition, I want to be aware of the safety standards so that participants can get the benefits of a safe atmosphere.

I’d like to obtain this experience crafting lesson plans and goals and objectives in the Cognitive, Affective, Psychomotor, and Social domains since “The student will be able to…” is extremely crucial.

3. Tasks: What job duties/responsibilities will you perform? List at least three
duties/responsibilities.

Demonstrate my belaying abilities in a high-risk event like a ropes course or a rock climbing gym.
When leading team building exercises, gain expertise in delivering positive comments, facilitation skills, and incentive strategies.
Assist/lead Personal Discovery Program Activities by ensuring that all rules and safety precautions are adhered to both in the gym and on the rope courses.
As a Discovery intern, I will behave myself in the following ways throughout my internship: open-mindedness, consideration, and support of those from varied backgrounds.
