Complete an autobiography that is a story
of who you are and what led you to be interested in early childhood
education. It should be a brief
description of the significant events and influences in your life related to
your interest. In your autobiography
consider the role your family, your early care experiences, your schools,
teachers, and your community and culture have had in shaping who you are
today. Highlight those things that relate
to the dispositions you’ve developed that influence your behaviors toward
children (ages birth – 8), families and colleagues. Describe your educational and career goals,
and the influence you hope to have on the children and families you meet. Consider the following:

Two or three experiences in your family,
early care, schools, communities or cultures that influenced why you chose this
field and what kind of an early childhood professional you will be. What experiences did you have that convinced
you that this field is a good fit for you?

Dispositions you possess that will
enhance your qualifications as an early childhood professional or that make you
well suited to working with children and families

Your passion for supporting children and
families, and what you hope to accomplish or contribute to the lives of
children and their families.
