Sports Biography Paper Instructions/Outline (100 points)
This paper should demonstrate an understanding of history and environment has shaped drug use
within our sports.
The paper shall include a title page, be at least 2 pages long no more than 4 of written content,
and a works cited page. Please develop each section completely.
Type/Standard margins/1.5 line space/12 arial font size lettering/Section Headings/Double-space
between sections. MLA format
Section I: Background
Describe your subject’s background who they are and how they achieved a level of notoriety or fame.
Where did they come from what type of home life did they/do they have, how would you describe their
upbringing, what was the structure of their family unit? Clearly state what their socio-economic
standing was prior to addiction/use. Describe their journey into the world of sports enhancing
drugs. Did they suffer from any other addictions or were members of their family’s people who
suffered from addictions?
Section II: Financial Statistics & Enablers
Define their drug use costs (money spent per day/over their life on drugs). How they were able to
fund their drug use. Did they have anyone who contributed or enabled them in their use?
Section III: Cultural Influences & Access
What were if any the cultural contributions that aided in or fueled the drug use? Were or Are they
involved in any “at risk” behaviors that would contribute to or make it difficult for the
individual to end their use? What are the ways in which the individual is able to have access to or
procure their drugs?
Section IV: Recovery or Outcome
Finally, discuss any recovery efforts or outcomes as a result of the drug use and if the use has
been resolved or how it affected their sports legacy.
