Develop
and critically evaluate an innovative and effective resource to enhance the
teaching of maths.
The planning, design,
implementation and evaluation of a maths resource. The resource should be justified in terms of
the target audience and presented to peers in order that peer evaluation can
also be gained.
Equivalent
to 2500 words.
You
will plan and design a resource which supports one or more of your learners in
your placement or teaching role.
You
will fully justify your choice of resource, drawing upon wider reading to
support your intentions. You will trial
the resource with one or more of your learners, over an appropriate period of
time.
You
will present your resource to your peers and, drawing on their feedback as well
as your own experience in using the resource, you will complete an evaluation
of the whole process, along with changes you would make for future use.
After writing a draft of 1300 words, the comments from my teacher on the current form is:
“You offer some reasonable critique of the resourse but this needs to be expanded upon by adding layers of theory to your discourse…
it would also be advisable to take a particular skill being addressed by Pixie maths rather than talking about it in general terms….show some screen shots of what the activities are and then discuss these from a more theoretical perspective….
For example you begin to discuss the importance of pictorial representations but this needs to be expanded upon to emphasise it…..
When you do introduce research, summarise it within 3 or 4 sentences and link it to the idea you are trying to develop..
