Please reflect on the Jane Elliott experiment.
As you watch or think about the Jane Elliott video clips ask yourself the following questions:
• Did the children have the capacity to consent to such an experiment?
• Did the children clearly understand the objectives of the research?
• Would the results provide meaningful knowledge to improve society?
• Was the method used necessary?
• Did the children suffer physical harm?
• Did the children suffer mentally?
• Could the children withdraw from the research at anytime?

Did she take into account important ethical principles like doing no harm and voluntary participation?
Would this study have been possible if she told students what she was doing?
