Should include three sections:
The Idea in Brief – the first paragraph or two should summarize and synthesize what the main idea(s) in the article are
Body – identify the most key pieces of information in the article and synthesize to your level of understanding
Implications for Applying the Ideas – how might the main ideas be applied in real life as it relates to you? Have you applied the ideas in the past? How might you apply them presently or in the future? Has what you read in the article changed your thinking and/or how you would act or react in different situations?
You will complete 9 reading summary assignments in this course. This assignment is due on February
6th. Each student is required to complete all 9 summaries of the course readings
(articles only; not the textbook). Each summary should be one page single spaced.
You will be graded based on the following guidelines:
● Did you complete 9 reading summaries following the suggested format provided and include all
sections?
● Did you rephrase the articles and summarize to your own level of application and understanding?
● Did you provide a strong implications for applying the ideas section in each reading summary?
● If you used quotes from the articles, did you cite them (please cite your work!)
● Are your reading summaries free of spelling and grammatical issue

For each single spaced page, please cite 2 quotes from the corresponding article for 18 total.
