As an alternative to the concert report, you can listen to a podcast about Jazz music, performance or artists. Choose from the podcasts listed in this module or ask me about another podcast (send a link to it if you ask). They should be podcasts that talk about the music and the guests, rather than ones that just play songs like a playlist. You will write one 2 page essay, double spaced in 12 point font about the podcast you just heard. You should be able to use musical terms to describe the parts of the music that was discussed in the podcast. I’m not expecting a detailed transcript of the episode, and there is no wrong or right answer for this paper. It is completely opinionated, but your opinion must be justified and well explained. Just be honest.
What to include:

What kind of experience do the host(s) have, other than this podcast (This should only be 1 or 2 sentences)?
Who were the guests? Have you heard of them or read about them before?
What musical artists did they talk about (other than the guests)? Have you heard of or read about them before?
What music did they mention or play? Any songs that you recognized?
What was something that you learned from this podcast? Explain.
Did you find anything unexpected about listening to this podcast? Explain.
