Read “The origin of inequality” by Rousseau (pgs 10-24,24-33,34-56). Argue that “Rousseau is wrong in blaming society and Perfectibility for all of the negative traits of humanity”. Perfectability is what Rousseau refers to as “self-perfection”. Which is man’s ability to improve himself. Rousseau thinks that society is the reason for inequality because in a society you compare yourself to others and that’s how inequality is born. He believes we were better when we lived like animals. He also thinks many of humans negative traits now are due to society. Argue against this.
