Discuss a time when you received the best advice that made a difference in your life. The advice may have been given to you by someone important in your life such as parents, teachers, peers, bosses, or someone else whose opinion you value. Explain what advice was given to you and why. Explain why this advice was so important to you and how following this advice made a significant impact on your life. Some possible questions that you might address in the essay may include: Did you know the advice was right for you at the time or was it only later that you realized how good this advice was? What specifically made you take this advice? Did you take the advice right away or did you have to think about it? Does the person giving the advice normally give good advice or did this advice come from someone you didn’t know well or who had never given you advice before?Essay Structure-You must use standard essay structure with a clear introduction with a clear thesis statement. In the introduction remember to briefly explain some background of the particular situation that you are addressing. For your thesis, what specifically did you do, whose advice did you reject and what did you learn from your decision? Answering those three questions in one sentence will likely allow you to have an effective thesis statement. You will also need body paragraphs, each with a clear topic sentence, supporting details, and analysis and a clear and complete conclusion. You must also have adequate transition words and phrases.
