For this assignment, students will connect the topic of the course to contemporary media, using a digital platform to create a digital poster or online exhibit that focuses on one or more animal representations. This assignment asks students to develop a digital exhibit that highlights contemporary representations surrounding an issue, species, or other topical approach (in any media format: art, literature, news, video, music, social media, advocacy sites, and more). Students will also write a 2-page paper or “curator’s note” that interprets and explains the message, significance, or implications of the chosen representation. In your curator’s note, try to draw connections to course readings, philosophical approaches, etc.
