Article Analysis
Your objective with these projects is to analyze a series of newspaper articles. You may analyze each article separately or together as a pair.
Sources for the articles:
Any newspaper will do, but I strongly suggest you limit yourself to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, (or their online versions) and the like. You probably should not use Forbes, Business Week, or similar magazines because the articles tend to be too lengthy for the analysis you’ll be doing. The articles you choose should focus on stories (or opinion pieces) about financial markets, financial institutions, or monetary economics.
You should:
· Provide a brief summary of the major points of the article
· Link the ideas in the article to the concepts/ideas that we have covered in class.
· Discuss any policy/business implications that are implied/brought up in the article.
· Discuss any areas of disagreement you have with the author and/or with those interviewed.
