At this point in the course, you all have learned more about at least one psychological theory or topic. Surveys are quite common in the social sciences as a means of studying a variety of these theories. This week, I want you to consider this source of quantitative data. If you were using a survey to address your psychological topic, what kinds of questions would you ask? How would you know they were truly measuring your topic?
After reading the above, provide the following information in your discussion post:
– Generate 5 survey questions and response categories that address a psychological theory or topic (it is suggested that you use the one you are focusing your paper on).
– Discuss how the questions relate to your theory or topic, and how you were test the validity of those questions.
In your responses to others, it is suggested that you comment on their survey questions and responses. Suggest additional questions or other ways to measure the topic or psychological theory.
