On pages 337-340, the author of the
course text presents Denison and Mishra’s four categories of culture based on
the organization’s strategic focus and the needs of its environment. Your
instructor will identify an industry from which you will research and choose 2
companies to compare and contrast their cultures. Which of the four categories
of culture would you assign to each organization and why? Based on what you
learned, which would you prefer to work for and why? Discuss the categories
chosen by your peers and challenge them to support their choices.
Professor Note: For learning activity # 7, please choose a Canadian industry that
is of interest to you. Please be sure to compare two companies for your
analysis.
