What were the effects of World War I on European societies? What impact did the war have on militaries, civilians, and different classes and segments of society? Frame your broader response with specific examples from different national contexts, for example, in Russia. What were the main causes of social unrest? Please be sure to incorporate the readings in your response, in particular our primary source readings (writers from the First World War, Fraser, Lenin).
