1) We spent a lot of time discussing the colonies of Virginia and Massachusetts Bay.
Discuss the similarities and differences between the two colonies. You are to
include everything we discussed from how they were founded to the way they
dealt with bringing people to the colonies, land distribution, money, education and
religion. Why did the Massachusetts Bay Colony retain their charter longer than
Virginia before becoming a royal colony? If there had not been an American
Revolution or if the colonies had lost, which one would have been more
successful? Be sure to have an introduction, body and conclusion.
2) Look at and discuss the interaction between Europeans and the Native populations
in the New World. What happened as a result of those interactions? Which group
of Europeans had the most successful relationship with the Indians? Discuss each
group of Europeans encounters with the Native Americans as a way to prove your
point. Did the times in which each group had their encounter affect the outcome?

3) We spent a lot of time discussing the background of the American Revolution,
both the long term and short term. Discuss both the long term and the short term
back of the American Revolution. How did the events we discussed lead to the
war? What was it about the issues of the long-term background that laid the
foundation for the events of the short-term background to build on? Where did
the tension between England and its colonies come from? Why did it escalate?
Finally why do you think the war began? Don’t forget about the two themes of
the American Revolution. Be sure to have an introduction, body and conclusion.
4) Compare and contrast the Treaty of Paris 1763 ending the French and Indian War,
and the Treaty of Paris 1783 ending the American Revolution. Both changed the
face of the British Empire in different ways. Look at the details we talked about
for both treaties. What were the long-term ramifications of each treaty? Did the
decisions outlined in the Treaty of Paris 1763 lead to the American Revolution?
Do not answer yes or no. I am looking for an analysis in other words what do you
think about these two treaties and how they affected future events.
