Nicolas- Hello class,
The most inspiring aspect of information technology is the job of computer repair. I have always been the kind of person to love taking things apart and figuring out how to fix them. Another reason this interests me is because I find it fascinating the different ways computer can be upgraded to perform at a higher level than what might come straight from the factory. In a lot of ways, I can relate to hardware of a computer to various aspects of an automobile. My future goals consists of pursuing management in the US Air Force. This entails that the technology skills that need to possess are limited to basic knowledge of the Microsoft programs such as Power Point and Word. The challenge that I will continue to overcome as it was a challenge in this class is my understanding of Microsoft Excel. Although knowing the ins and outs of the program is a lot. I love how useful this program can be for an assortment of tasks and is worth the time and energy.

The most inspiring aspect of the field of Information Technology is the intelligence of what happens behind the scenes. As users, we may get frustrated when it doesn’t work or seems too complicated, but it is someone’s job to be an innovated thinker to come up with improvements or the next big thing and to create their vision.
The technology skills that would increase my success in organization management is to use information technology systems to support key business objectives to increase efficiency and using data analytics to support strategic planning. Information technology systems are how organizations do business and the management of information systems is about analyzing the data. Understanding this and leveraging the information will make an impact to the organization performance and prosperity.
I think the biggest challenge while pursuing a new career is the lack of experience. Some skills can be interchangeable, but I think the biggest part is to be coachable. Self-confidence can also be a factor because of the unknown. I will overcome this by relating my relevant experience to the position I would like to obtain. It may not be exactly the same, but it can show the potential. I will identify my strengths and capitalizing on them to be more confident. If I believe in myself, so will others.
