For the final assignment, choose a topic that is interesting to you and related to one of the topics from class. For example, the seat design and materials selection for passengers on maglev trains or the regenerative braking systems of hybrid cars and busses. You may select a narrow or broad topic.
Research your topic then prepare a research paper including cover page and reference list. The paper should be single-spaced, with one space between paragraphs and contains in-text citations that identify the research that supports your opinions.
The paper will need to identify the topic (product, material, policy, etc.), provide a critical analysis as to its sustainability (reduce, reuse, recycle, embodied energy, biodegradability, environmental impact, etc.), and discuss what is currently used and what impacts the replacement or update will have on society. Keep the Tesla reading in mind and how the paper topics will impact the problem of increasing human energy.
