The purpose of the Reflective Journal entries is for you to reflect on the reading and study material and assignments in the assigned modules to determine if you are experiencing difficulty with any of the content or have learned something that has made a significant impact in your learning experience. Each Reflective Journal Entry must be at least 200 words to ensure adequate depth of reflection.
Often times, people are uncomfortable with the subject of suicide. Discuss your experience or lack of experience with suicide by addressing the following topics regarding suicide:
If you have known anyone who has threatened suicide, say a little bit about what that was like for you.
What are your concerns about working with a suicidal client in the future?
What assessment will you use to determine whether or not a client is suicidal?
What kind of treatment do you think would be appropriate for a suicidal individual?
How might faith be a preventive measure for suicide (see the Amato et al. article, Spirituality and Religion: Neglected Factors in Preventing Veteran Suicide?)?
