Homework Requirements:
Your main discussion post must consist of a minimum of 600 words. Use the terms and reference the information covered in the weekly course content.
1. Pick one photographer from the list below, artists from Photography and Time-Based Media learning unit, upload two photographs created by that artist.
2. Create a visual response, two photographs, inspired by the artwork of the artist you chose. Upload all four photos to the discussion post.
3. It is required to upload two images by the artist and two photographs made by you. Include the name of the artwork, name of the artist, the date, the size of the work, the medium, basically the physical properties, all the details you can find. For the two photographs made by the artist you picked, and the two photographs you created.
4. Apply the four types of investigation, Visual Analysis, to the one of the photographs by the artist you include in your post.
5. It is also required to apply the four types of investigation, Visual Analysis, to one of the photographs you made for this discussion post.
6. Discuss your opinion of the photograph by the photographer you selected; if you feel their work is successful or not, and why you feel it visually communicates the artists message and intentions.
7. Include in your essay how and why the photograph you submitted is inspired by the photography of the artist you chose.

Process of Visual Analysis – apply the four types of investigation, visual analysis, to one of the photographs made by the photographer you pick, and also apply the four types of investigation, visual analysis, to one of your photographs:
Assessment of physical properties: objective information / the facts
Analysis of visual or formal structure: Consider the visual elements or formal vocabulary, which would be used to describe the overall arrangement, composition, organization, design, or structure of the artwork.
Identification of subject matter or conventional symbolism: Explain or identify the “natural subject matter” in the artwork, what details do you notice or recognize from life experience. Conventional symbolism; widely recognized signs or sign systems that signify a concept or idea. You can discuss conventional symbolism or your personal symbolism for this part of the project.
Integration within cultural context: Cultural context looks at the society the characters (artist) live in and at how their culture can affect their behavior and their opportunities.
Peer Review:
Respond to two of your classmates posts with a minimum of 75 words, use the terms and reference the information covered in the weekly course content. Consider the following prompts:
1- In your response consider discussing your thoughts on the photographs your classmates made, any influences you see in their photographs in relation to the photographers work they submitted.
2- Give some positive feedback on the photographs your classmate created.
3- Share any suggestions on ways to improve their photographs.
