At least 250 words, cite all sources, including argument, in APA format.
Please read the following carefully:
Read about the following argument that was famously posed by Blaise Pascal:
“You cannot be completely certain that Christianity is or is not true. You have to make a bet either way. On the one hand, if Christianity is true and you reject Christ, then you will be faced with eternal damnation. On the other hand, if Christianity isn’t true and you follow Christ’s teaching, then you will have lived a good, moral life, and no harm will have been done. Clearly then, it would be wisest to assume and live as though Christianity is true”.
For this Discussion, reflect on and engage with Pascal’s argument. Be sure to address the following questions along the way:
– Do you agree that a person cannot be “certain” whether Christianity is true or not? Why or why not?
– Does someone “have to make a bet” in this scenario? Could someone just refuse to make a bet? Why or why not?
– What do you think of this argumentative strategy overall?
– Does it appeal to you in any way?
– Does it bother you in any way? How and/or why?
Refer to the attached rubric and cite all sources, including argument, in APA format.
