Any disease or disorder is an option, but please let me know first (so I can verify that the topic will work for this length assignment). And, if two people pick the same topic, not a problem! (as long as you write your own papers, of course!)
This paper should cover four aspects:
Introduction: what is the name of, and overall description of, this disease? (If you want, you can provide some historical background, how it was discovered)
What are major symptoms of this disease? (Some will have more than others.) You may also discuss how someone is diagnosed with the disease/diagnostic criteria.
Is there any treatment available for this disease? If so, what? (Note that there is a difference between treatments and therapies that can cure the patient, and treatments that will simply make them feel better while they live with the disease. Both are valid treatments to discuss!)
What are the outcomes for this disease? (This, of course, depends on your topic: some diseases will be manageable and have a minor impact on life; at the other end of the spectrum, there can be diseases which are quickly devastating)
