For this assignment, you will need to reference the draft of the problem statement you developed in RSCH860 and discussed in the Unit 2 Discussion Board (DB). You will also need to conduct library research on the theoretical and conceptual underpinnings that inform your study problem and purpose.
Address the following:
Revise your problem statement, incorporating feedback from your colleagues and your instructor.
The problem must be both practice-based and scholarship-supported, so it needs to consider both practice and recent research.
Turn your attention to the Purpose Statement section of the Research Prospectus Template.
As you begin to think about drafting your purpose statement, make sure that you consider how the purpose of your study aligns with the study problem.
The Study Purpose section will introduce a brief rationale for the choice of study design, followed by an overview of research methods (e.g., possible research site, target population, sampling method, proposed sample size, data collection method, data analysis method).
The Study Purpose section will close with a statement of the potential contributions of the study findings to professional practice and scholarship.
Cite theoretical, conceptual, and empirical peer-reviewed literature to support the relevance of your problem and purpose.
Remember that this is an iterative process, and you will continue to refine various elements of your study as you work through the dissertation process.
Before submitting your assignment, create an outline, write a draft based on this outline, run a Grammarly report on the draft, and edit and revise as necessary. Your submission should be the product of your own critical thinking and deductive reasoning.
Please submit your assignment on Sunday of the unit (11:59:59pm Central Time).

Instructor’s Comments:
In Live Chat 1, the focus was on an orientation to the course. Allow me to be your navigator. 🙂
Next, we will talk in more depth about the Dissertation Research Prospectus Template, itself, at further length and in greater detail. After all, it (Research Prospectus) is the most important focus of this course.
I will discuss in live chat overviews of each section of the Research Prospectus Template and cover frequently asked questions to help you get started.
Before you submit the Unit 2 IP, please view the Live Chat #1 and future Live Chat #2 session(s).
I also highlight a few very specific actions that every Doctoral Learner should take between each learning activity of this course. Did you catch those two important self-directed action items? If so, feel free to list them in the DBs. I’d love to read your Live Chat takeaways!
